An Item Upgrade Success Story You ll Never Believe
WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give you boosts in certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.
The upgraded gear typically has a greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade items gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.
You can upgrade items your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.
Upgrades will cost more depending on the item level, but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment. For instance upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will costs 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are useful items that are used to level up weapons tools, armor, and other items. They can be purchased by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor using the help of button, which displays an image of the item when it is upgraded in the event that the player has enough materials.
The cost of upgrades varies based on the item upgrader kit slot and the current Best item upgrade level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currency types.
Item upgraders can be found at many locations on the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of obtaining a new recipe. The discount on upgrades increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or quests.
Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no item upgrader available at the start of Icewind Dale. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are only accessible through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit and a disadvantage.
In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. After the player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This applies even if the items come from another set of equipment.
The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievements.
Crests
Players have a variety of options when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an item Level upgrade that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.
The first thing to note is that crests are only able to be spent on equipment of a particular rank, and that each rank has its own requirements for its upgrade path. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, contingent on the type of equipment being upgraded.
Players can obtain crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and performing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with any difficulty for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for gear that is used in the endgame. These crests can then be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.
The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it will bring some changes to the process of upgrading. For instance, when a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters, rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.
Another significant change is that crests have one usage and it's crucial to use them properly. For instance it's a good idea to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the top gear you have available, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan to make. This is especially applicable to items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount on the account will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
