Guide To Item Upgrades: The Intermediate Guide Towards Item Upgrades
Path of Exile Item Upgrades
item upgrading upgrades (https://images.google.td) are a common and essential way to boost the performance of many items in Path of Exile. They can be a good source of damage or more AD or even more attachments.
Sometimes, however upgraded Common and Magic gear is outclassed by Rare-grade equipment due to their higher requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They increase the effectiveness of the item upgrader that they are attached to. Armor upgrades can be found in the game's world and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Alternatively, they can also be salvaged from items with upgrade components in them with a professional or higher salvage kit.
The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it is able to absorb. The damage absorption of a piece armor will increase when it is upgraded to its maximum upgrade level. However, it's important be aware that this upgrade will raise its weight, requiring it to be heavier than before.
There are a variety of armor upgrades that are available in the game. Each has a different impact. For instance, some upgrades give the armor a certain amount of additional health points, while others make it stronger and lighter. The type of armor upgrade that an item level upgrade will receive will be indicated by the name of the upgrade, as illustrated in the table below.
Some upgrades also feature magical or a combination of magic and technology, which is identified by a "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Certain upgrades also require fees for use. They are referred to as "Charges" entries in the table. These charges are continuously updated or never expire depending on the upgrade.
Iron Ore is the cheapest method to upgrade your armor. You can find it by exploring and looting small treasure chests. Titanium is more expensive but is readily available at the smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, like the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to higher level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide a significant improvement in performance and are worth the cost, especially for single-handed weapons.
The process of upgrading an armor piece to max upgrade level will dramatically increase its defense values, but the player should be aware that increasing its weight can drastically decrease its agility and speed. For this reason, it is generally not recommended to upgrade armor pieces that are higher than +9 because the increase in defense is generally not worth the weight and power costs of the improvements required.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades let players increase the effectiveness of specific aspects of an weapon. Upgrades can boost the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage that shotgun shells cause. Some weapons also have special enhancements that enhance their intrinsic characteristics. Frictionless materials (improves stability, reduces the risk of weapon overheating), and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's acceleration for greater damage) are two examples.
The majority of upgrades to weapons require three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons, and a whetblade. They can be obtained by completing Side Quests or killing a certain amount of monsters and bosses.
To upgrade the weapon, equipment set piece, or Whetblade you need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee of a certain amount of Bars. The more bars required to complete an upgrade the more advanced the level. If you have multiple upgrade materials, the cost of upgrading will be lower.
In Chapter 2: Season 5, the way you upgrade your equipment and weapon sets has changed a bit. Prior to Chapter 2: Season 5, you could upgrade your weapon or equipment by paying a specific amount of Bars. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level, at which point the upgrades would reset.
You can still do this, but the process is high on RNG and low on agency. You're better off buying gear with low upgrade levels, but high base scores and stat distributions. These gears have a greater likelihood of granting you most prestigious tier of benefits and blessings.
Most players will want to prioritize weapon upgrades for the weapons they most often use to make sure they are able to level up faster. Additionally players, they should also consider upgrading the weapons favored by their squadmates to increase their power and effective. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R, which will make it more useful when accompanied by biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels can be used to boost a stat or provide secondary effects in armor and weapons. Jewelry crafting is a method of making them, where you combine a gemstone with a number specific reagents on a jewelry table. The higher the grade of the jewel, the better its secondary effect. These reagents are available from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses around the world, or by finding Legendary Gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.
The quality of a gem can be improved upon by the Jeweler, with stages that range from Crude to Royal. The stat boosts can vary depending on the tier the jewel is at when it is inserted into weapons, jewelry, or equipment.
All kinds of jewels can be made at the Jeweler and Jeweler's Workshop, with the exception of the rare and legendary gems that require you to be at a certain level to be able to get them. Jewels can be replaced by another jewel without destroying the original. You can only replace the gem once in an item of equipment.
The use of more jewels in a movement will make it feel smoother and is typically used for aesthetic reasons. The jewels can also enhance performance and create an outer layer that is more durable than metal so that repeated friction caused by pivots does not cause damage to the movement.
A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs that can enhance the appearance of your shields and weapons. These glyphs give a slight boost and can be freely traded, but they are not guaranteed to be available as loot. Glyphs can be upgraded, like jewelry, at the Jeweler for gold, and also Scattered Crystal. Glyphs are also removed, which returns them to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as traits or aegis cannot be swapped, and can only be recovered by using an Upgrade extractor or salvaging with Black Lion Salvage Kit, or Ascended Salvage.
Trinkets
Trinkets are a great way to give your character various small, but valuable, advantages. They can be acquired starting in the beginning areas as loot or personal story rewards from vendors, or by completing road interactions. They can be purchased from the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.
The first trinket that a player will unlock is the cloak. It grants a small but beneficial boost in speed of movement and evasion. After that, they'll be able to purchase amulets, rings and necklaces in the same fashion to how the player acquires weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment has one upgrade slot that can accept either a universal upgrade or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades provide smaller bonuses and can be put into any kind of equipment however, jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded and is only compatible with certain types of trinkets.
These trinkets also grant additional buffs and skills that remain active when the hero is not fighting. This lets a hero be more efficient while inactive. It can also compensate for the lack of a good team or talent tree slots which are usually filled by the hero's Best item upgrader stats.
A good rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you will not replace soon, followed by any items with desirable stats that are less important than the iLevel of the item upgrader to be upgraded. This is particularly true if an item has multiple stats that you'd like to upgrade since it's generally more beneficial to upgrade one crucial stat than two subpar ones.
Jungle players will often upgrade their yellow trinket to a red one at the beginning of the game. Mid and top players on the other hand will pick either a pink or green ward, depending on the matchup. These choices can affect the ability of a hero to control the map.
In addition to the items listed above, players can discover a variety of other trinkets in the game in the form of awards and trophies. These can be obtained by completing certain milestones within the story. For example, completing the main quest for a chapter or beating an opponent. You can check them out by selecting the achievement from the reward section of the hero's menu.
