World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses like PvE damage and crit chance.

If the weapon's upgrade template is %, it will increase 3percent of its previous damage every time it's upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the current level of the item. The cost rises with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armor and trinkets to give them a stat boost or to add an additional effect. These can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to blue before a component can be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied only once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a type of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascended equipment, as well as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging ascended gear or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade can include a suffix or prefix, modifying the name of the equipment with the upgrade (for instancefor example 'Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions of the item using fewer upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level with normal methods.

A 'boost upgrade' can alter the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or by purchasing them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals each.

The player can get a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-level version of the item upgrade will be available during the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their equipment even when they're not sure how much it can be improved upon an update.

The process of upgrading an item could be expensive, and it is possible that the item will be obsolete, or even break, if the upgrade items is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items to increase or even eliminate the chances of failure, and some upgrades that provide an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, including any existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways, and we suggest upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as you can.

You will often find in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the best way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded up to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, the sole upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced again are the most popular. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values that it can improve a stat by. The value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with another Glyph with the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have the desired Glyphs You will have to put them on your equipment. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that will boost a particular set of stat nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.

Utilizing the Glyph will boost all nodes that are connected to it, so you should aim to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. For instance that a Druid should aim to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes, however, you may also want to think about placing them near crucial damage nodes, too.

Leveling

The item upgrades upgrading system allows players to improve the stats of certain items by placing upgraded components into them. This is often referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum level of 385. Each level of item requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to leveling up an item. When enough points have been earned, you will be able to claim your upgrade and get its extra bonuses.

When a player improves a piece of equipment it will be replaced with an item that is new. This means that the same armor piece will get the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set of bonuses. This could be a disadvantage in that the item could increase in price even if you don't require it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do so. This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, which will have an initial level and a completely different set of bonuses. This can be useful, but shouldn't be done often as it could waste resources.

Certain upgrades can boost their value, allowing players to customize their gear. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player repeatedly enters and exits water (or does not swim as dolphins). The item can be upgraded many times by increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is very useful in PvP. A perfectly rolled version could be worth 50 times the value of a non-upgraded version.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to boost the level of their available gear--armor, weapons and trinkets above ilvl 385--by presenting the appropriate currency and items to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces boost the defense of the base set, while upgrades to weapon items increase their base damage as well as their strength and dexterity.

All items are upgradeable up to five times, with the exception for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an object it is at risk of failing. The probability of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures can cause the item to go to its original state, requiring the player to pay more for materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.

If an item does not upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it has gained like the chance to crit damage to attack, other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time, or reloading speed). However, the player can continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

If an item upgrade is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from the lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance it will be applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the item's definition and the value is calculated every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item may have five upgrades, each costing 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will have the lowest cost for each upgrade.

Premium items might require different upgrades than normal equipment. For example, they may need less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. However, players will have to visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko in Central Flarine. Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. Each upgrade of equipment will require different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the costs listed above.
