Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They can be purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon or armor. The button will show a preview of an item's next upgrade level in the event that there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.
