The 9 Things Your Parents Taught You About Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade you choose, it may increase the rarity of an item, or its Mark Level and increase other stats.
Each item has a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a set amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's basic stats increases when it is upgraded. This value is the total of all its upgraded benefits (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrading items can be expensive depending on the upgrader you choose and what type of upgrade you choose to make. This is due to the sheer number of perks that need to be changed in order to upgrade an item.
Item level is a popular measure of power, and can be found on all tooltips of items. It also serves to limit how much PvP gear players can wear as PvP is restricted at a lower level. The average level of the item is listed on the character sheet.
When deciding whether to buy or sell equipment, players can compare the item level. It's an indicator of the damage and its quality. Comparing items in the inventory of a seller can be done using the item's level.
On PC, you are able to see the level of the item by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including the ilvl. It can also be located by hovering an item with the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel in chat.
There are a few theories about how the calculation of an item's level is made. One theory is that the item level is a numerical value derived from a formula that determines the value of an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration the fact that different perks have different values, and also that gems in sockets increase the overall value of the item. This can result in a calculated value for the item's ilvl which is usually quite close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.
It's not the only factor that influences the ilvl of an item. The location of where the item dropped can also alter its stats. For example it can increase the item's haste or crit rating. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have a higher value.
Item Stats
Item stats can make or break an item for players. The game uses a variety of them in different ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and prevent one weapon from being "the best." The base stats on a weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat mods which are then boosted by the player's level.
The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats on the item. The rarity of an item determines its upgrade cost. A grey or white item for instance, can only be upgraded once, while an item with rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times with higher prices.
Affixes can also be used to change an item's stats. They are stat boosters that can be added by the player to an item upgrading. The affixes can be used to give the item additional damage, or add a unique ability to the item (such as reviving dead or decreasing the cooldowns), or make the item unique by giving a special name to the item.
Presently, all affixes are able to be modified by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circling arrows. This procedure will cost the player a specific amount of gold and items that can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same way as the other options for rerolling.
Players can choose to upgrade an item with a specific stat, or reroll affixes. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However every item will include at least one stat in the range, unless they are a unique item, or an item that has a God Roll from a raid boss.
This is another aspect that could be changed by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes or choosing which stats to increase. Like the base equipment, this would have to be done per item, and the interface for item comparison will not show all possible stats simultaneously.
Item Luck
A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the chances of finding items and the properties that are spawned from loot drops, and the intensity of the properties. It does not, however, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players the possibility to obtain better equipment in earlier waves and is thus more beneficial in the early game than in later ones, as most players prioritize higher weapon scaling and defenses over the raw damage gain.
In addition to influencing item upgrader kit discovery, Luck also increases the chances of being successful when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading that increase with each new level of item. They can also be increased with the use of anti-materials like the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
Weapons, shields, and armor can be created or spawned using the Luck property, with the default value of 40. These items can be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant a further +40 Luck, or to increase the luck of an item, up to 140.
Additionally there are certain items, such as the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow, can be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be bought in the shop, or they can be made using the correct ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to increase the success rate of an upgrade, or to protect players from losing their items if it fails.
When you upgrade an item the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of successfully upgrading that item and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased so much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail can't be greater than 100%..
The success of an upgrades is also influenced by the luck of the item. Each item has an average success rate of 25% and each item with Luck increases that chance by an additional five percent.
The item upgrade (click through the up coming post) overlays are rendered above the items in the inventory. This could block enchantment effects as well as other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
