World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.

For instance a weapon that has the upgrade template that ends in % will take on 3damage to attack each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost increases as the level of the item rises.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to give them a stat boost or to add an additional effect. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors trading, or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot for them. The item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level to allow a component to be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a specific type of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment, as well as some of the non-ascended back items. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could be prefixed or a suffix changing the name of the equipment to which it is used (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions of the item using less upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level using standard methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence attributes of the weapon or armor. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them from the cash shop or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher tier version of an item will be dropped during the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their equipment even if they are unsure how much it will be improved after the reset.

The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process could be costly and there is a substantial chance that the item could be obsolete or even break if it fails. A failed upgrade will ruin the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items to double or even eliminate the possibility of failure, and some upgrades that offer an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, including any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded various ways, and we suggest getting them up to level 15 whenever you can.

You will often find in the endgame that putting Glyphs is a great method to upgrade items your equipment. They are the only upgrade component which can be upgraded to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without any restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.

Each Glyph has a certain range of values it can improve a statistic by. The value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.

The use of the Glyph can boost all nodes connected to it, and you should aim to place your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids, for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also want to consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to boost the power of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is also known as "upping". Every upgradeable item has a level that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level of an item requires a different number of components to reach and the cost of upgrading increase as the item gets advanced in level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by making upgrade items Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or bought from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to level the item, and once enough points have been earned, the upgrade can be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player improves a piece of equipment it is replaced by a new item. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own bonus. This could be a drawback because it can cause the item to become more expensive, even if you don't require it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can roll item upgrades. The item will be replaced by the same item, but it is based on a level 1 base and completely different bonuses. This is a good option for some items, but it shouldn't be performed frequently, since it can use up lots of resources.

Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to personalize their gear. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player repeatedly enters and exits water (or is able to swim like a dolphin). It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time raising the max roll by 10 points. This item is very valuable in PvP. A perfectly rolled version can be worth 50 times the value of a unupgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The upgrade of items allows players to boost the level of their available equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by presenting the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapon equipment will increase the base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

All items are upgradeable up to five times, with the exception for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Each each time you upgrade an item it is given the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you go beyond the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original state, requiring the player to pay more for materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar in the bar for growth will be reset to zero. Additionally, the item upgrade will lose any bonus it earned, including crit chance and attack damage, and all other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or speed of reload). The player is able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded receives a crit chance boost it will be applied before any attack damage increases. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to its base value. For example, a common item might have five upgrades at a cost of. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items have lower costs per upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. Whatever the case, players will have to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each upgrade requires an individual amount of ingredients for upgrading.
