Nine Things That Your Parent Teach You About Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items can be used to boost the stats of a particular item. Depending on the upgrade type it can boost an item level upgrade's Mark Level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats.
The process of upgrading gear in The War Within requires a certain number of Flightstones and Crests and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a specified amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's stats base increases as it is upgraded. The value is the sum of an item's leveled-up perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive, dependent on the upgrader and what kind of upgrade you decide to make. This is due to the number of perks that must be modified to upgrade an item.
The level of an item is a widely used measurement of power and can be found on all tooltips for items. It is also used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can use, since PvP is limited at lower levels. The average item level is listed on the character sheet.
The level of an item can help players evaluate the potency of gear when deciding to purchase or sell. It's a useful gauge of an item's worth and how much damage it is capable of causing. The item level can also be used to compare items when examining the inventory of a seller.
On PC, you can view the item level using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will show the full description of the item, including its ilvl. It can also be found by hovering an item with the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel into chat.
There are various theories on how the item level calculation is carried out. One theory says that the level of an item is determined by formulas that determine how valuable the stats of an item really are. It takes into consideration that different advantages are valued differently and that gems found in sockets increase the item's value. This could result in an item's ilvl which is calculated and is usually very close to Blizzards actual level of the item.
However, this is not the only factor that affects an item's ilvl, as the level of the area the item is dropped into can alter the value of its stats, for example by adding a level to its crit rating or haste rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have higher value than items dropped in lower-level instances.
Item Stats
Item stats can make or break an item for players. The game utilizes them in various ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to a single weapon and to encourage them to try out other weapons. The stat mods of weapons boost base stats. These stat mods are then boosted by the player's level.
The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats on the item. The rarity of an item determines its cost of upgrading. For example, a grey or white item can only be upgraded once, whereas an item with rare tiers can be upgraded many times at higher prices.
Affixes are another way to change an item's stats. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and they come in all sizes and shapes. The affixes could do things like give the item additional damage, add a special ability to the item (such as reviving the dead or reducing the duration of cooldowns), or make the item unique by giving an exclusive name to the item.
All affixes can be currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade window, pressing the green button. This will cost a specific amount in gold and items. These can be used as upgrade gauges just like the other rerolling methods.
In addition to rerolling affixes, players can also choose which stats they want to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges for an item are based on the level of the item, but all items are guaranteed to have at least one stat within the specified range, unless it's an item that is unique or the result of a God roll from a boss in a raid.
Another thing that could be changed is the possibility to upgrade item equipment without having to reroll the attachments, or pick which stats to boost. Similar to base equipment, it must be done per item, and the interface for item comparison will not show all possible stats simultaneously.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the chances of item discoveries as well as the properties that appear on loot drops, and the intensity of these properties. It doesn't, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It simply gives the player a possibility to obtain better equipment earlier in the game and is therefore more useful in the initial game run than later ones because most players value greater weapon scaling and defense over raw damage gains.
Luck can also increase the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance which increases with each level of the item and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
The shields, armor and weapons have a default Luck value of 40. These items can be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant an additional +40 Luck, or to increase the existing Luck of an item up to 140.
Additionally there are certain items, like the Hollow infused weapon can be used to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items are available in the shops or made with the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Upgrades to items are a costly process and not every upgrade will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to increase the success rate of an upgrade, or to protect players from losing their item if it does not work.
When you upgrade an item, the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased as much, and the chance that the upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%.
The success of an can be affected by the luck of the item. Every item has a base success rate of 25%, and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by an additional 5%.
The item upgrade overlays are rendered above items in the inventory. This could obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader [Images.Google.Ad] CORE client config.
