The 9 Things Your Parents Teach You About Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items are a method to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade it can raise an item's Mark level or Rarity and boost additional stats.
The process of upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a certain amount.
Item Level
When an item is upgraded, its stats increase in value. This value is the sum of all of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades to items can be costly, depending on the upgrader and what kind of upgrade you decide to make. This is due to the variety of perks that have to be altered to upgrade an item.
It can also be used to enforce gating requirements when queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It also serves to limit how much PvP gear players are able to wear since PvP is not available at lower levels. The average item level can be found in the character sheet.
The level of an item can help players compare the strength of equipment when choosing to buy or sell. It's a good indicator of an item's quality and how much damage it is capable of causing. The level of an item can be used to evaluate items when examining the inventory of a vendor.
The level of the item can be seen by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the full description of the item, including its ilvl. It is also accessible by hovering over an item with the mouse cursor and entering /itemlevel into chat.
There are several theories about how the level of an item is calculated. One theory is that the level is a number derived from a formula that calculates how much an item's stats are worth. It considers the fact that different perks have different worth, and also that sockets have gems that increase the item's overall value. This can result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl which is usually quite close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.
This isn't the only factor that affects the value of an item. The degree of the area in which the item was dropped may alter its stats. For example it can add a level to the item's haste or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have more value than items dropped in lower-level instances.
Item Stats
The item's stats can determine the fate of an item upgrader kit for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in different ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the Best item upgrade." The stats of a base weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat modification that are in turn increased by the player's skill.
Upgrades to the item add by increasing certain stats on the item. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a grey or white item will only be upgraded once, whereas items with rare tiers will be upgraded several times with higher prices.
Affixes can also be used to change an item's stats. They are stat boosters that can be added by the player to an item. Affixes can do things like give the item additional damage, or add a unique ability to the item upgrader (such as reviving the dead or decreasing the duration of cooldowns), or make the item unique by giving a special name to the item.
Presently, all affixes are able to be changed by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button using circles arrows. This will cost a specific amount of gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges, as with other rerolling methods.
In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can select which of the available stats to be kept on an item after it is upgraded. The stat ranges are determined by the item's level. However, all items will include at least one stat in that range unless they are an item that is unique or a God Roll from a raid boss.
Another thing that could be changed is the option to upgrade equipment without having to reroll affixes, or choose which stats to increase. But, like base equipment, this would need to be done on a per-item basis, and the interface for item comparison will not show all the stats that could be gained or lost at once.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player increases the likelihood of locating items and the properties that are created by loot and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with the chance to upgrade their gear earlier in the game. This is particularly beneficial in early game runs since players tend to prioritize weapon scaling and defenses above raw damage gains.
Luck can also boost the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith's overall chances of upgrading that increase with each new level of item. These can also be increased with the use of anti-materials, such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
Armor, shields and weapons can be created or spawned using the Luck property, which has an initial value of 40. These items can then be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to give +40 Luck or to boost the existing Luck of an item, up to 140.
Certain items, like the weapon with Hollow-infused components can also be crafted to increase the damage of any skill that is able to deal damage by 5percent. These items are available in the shop or created by using the appropriate ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chances of success for an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their item in the event that it does not work.
The success rate of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special Materials. The probability of success can only be increased as much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%.
The luck of an item may influence the effectiveness of an upgrade. Every item has a success rate of 25 percent, and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5percent.
The upgrade overlays of the item are displayed above items in the inventory. This can obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade item overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
